Janet Lillian Armstrong was a strong Christian and proponent of urban youth attaining higher education. She was a graduate of Sumner High School and St. Louis University. She was also a lifelong member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church and worked in the Wellston School District for many years. Her humble and generous spirit lives on through all of the lives that she touched. This scholarship was created to perpetuate her tenets of service, academic achievement, and Christian character.
